Note on LEED Abbreviations

When referring to LEED prerequisites and credits this blog uses abbreviations for convenience.

For example: SSp1 Minimize Site Disturbance (NC/CS):

  • SS = the credit category, in this case Sustainable Sites
  • p1 = prerequisite number 1; “c” stands for credit as in SSc1
  • Minimize Site Disturbance = the credit/prerequisite name
  • (NC/CS) = the adaptions the credit/prerequisite is relevant to, in this case NC = New Construction and CS = Core and Shell

The LEED v5 credit categories are:

  • Integrative Process, Planning and Assessments (IP)
  • Location and Transportation (LT)
  • Sustainable Sites (SS)
  • Water Efficiency (WE)
  • Energy and Atmosphere (EA)
  • Materials and Resources (MR)
  • Indoor Environmental Quality (EQ)
  • Project Priorities and Innovation (PI).
